Week 4 : April 1st - April 8th : Wolverine 3 AND Furious 8 Villains Cast!

Hello all!
I have realized by doing news round-ups that there is a lot of stuff that I plainly am uninterested in, so I am trying a new format out this time, and I'll see if it works out. From now on I will only talk about two or three news pieces (disregarding a trailer discussed on Thursday). By doing so, I get to write about stuff I care about!

The third and final Wolverine film has cast the villain role, Boyd Holbrook, and I'm really just using that as an excuse to talk about this movie. The guy was in the Netflix show Narcos, which I have not seen, but I heard it's good. But really it's not important. This film will be entirely around Hugh Jackman. It will be his final time playing the character, and that's pretty sad to say. It is an end of an era, but it is an understandable choice. Jackman has immense talent, and by next year when this film releases, it will be his 17th year of being Wolverine, and he needs to move on to other roles. Also, Fox's X-Men films have proven to be successful without Wolverine, so he is not a necessity anymore. It's just really sad, especially considering my favorite superhero has been Wolverine for a very long time. In case you didn't know, Wolverine 3 has an R-rating in sight, so in final time, Jackman will go all out with Wolverine's bloodlust. So expect to see some adamantium claws tearing people to shreds.

And the other piece of news this week that I find interesting (besides the Rogue One trailer but I think I have exhausted that thing now) is the casting of Charlize Theron as the villain in Furious 8. This franchise has yet to see a female villain, and Theron is a great way to start that. She has proven herself in action roles time and time again, most recently in Mad Max: Fury Road, where she stole the show from Max himself. I wonder if she will be a physical threat to the Furious gang, like how Jason Statham was in Furious 7, or she will sort of be a queen bee of an association of killers. Personally, I don't think of these movies as highly as other people do, but I still find them to be fun, turn-your-brain-off, action films, with logic-defying stunts and cheesy one-liners. But hey, I will be there to watch Furious 8!

Slow news week, due to the Rogue One trailer dropping, so nobody wants to drop anything huge. Next week the first Doctor Strange trailer is releasing, and you bet that will be Thursday's trailer talk! Thank you for reading!
