Trailer Talk Thursday! Featuring : The LEGO Batman Movie!

Hello all!
Today dropped my favorite trailer of the week, The LEGO Batman Movie!

The announcement of The LEGO Batman Movie about a year ago got me so excited. The LEGO Movie was one of my favorite films of 2014. I was skeptical about the idea, but the execution was excellent. It had a little something for everyone to enjoy, and the satire on film as a whole was quite clever. It was a nice surprise in a strange time of the year.

After the announcement of a BUNCH of other LEGO spin-offs, this was the one I was looking forward to the most. I love Batman, there's no dispute about that. Also, Will Arnett as the voice of Batman in The LEGO Movie was fantastic. The comedic style of Chris Miller and Phil Lord was harmonious with Batman.

The opening of this trailer kind of reminded me of Deadpool, as did the rest of it. It kind of follows the same comedic tropes that Deadpool is now popular for having. Listing all the Batman films (even the wonderfully atrocious Batman and Robin) and then The LEGO Movie was a nice way of getting the audience comfortable with the idea of this film. All the other jokes are really nice, but not fantastic. I'm assuming they're saving the best for the actual film, similarly to the original movie. I do like the microwave bit the most, kind of showing how Batman lives the middle class life. The animation looks beautiful, just like the first. This is probably my most anticipated animated film of the next year, and I am looking forward to more LEGO movies!
