Why Rogue One Will NOT Be Another Star Wars "Prequel"

Ever since the announcement of Rogue One, and more recently, the trailer, many people are anticipating the failure of the film (NOT the financial failure). The word "prequel" has not been used to describe this film by the marketing team, and for a good reason. The term "Star Wars prequel" instantly turns people off from the film, knowing the massive disappointment that the prequel trilogy was. Therefore, those fans who are relating that term to this film have their doubts, but I'm going to try to explain why this "prequel" will be different.

The Difference Between "Favorite" and "Best" in Regards to Film

Little late on the post today, but either way, here it is! So unlike all my other posts, we aren't going to be talking about specific films, but more of film in general. Around this blog, you will see me use the words "best" and "favorite" a lot, usually bolded, and especially in my top (number) count-downs. Just to clarify what I mean when I make favorite vs best lists, here are the differences.

Speculation : 3 Untitled Marvel Films in 2020 ; What Could They Be?

A little extra post for the day, simply because I can and I want to. Sorry for the overwhelming Marvel talk, it's what I love! 

So Marvel has their "Phase 3" of films pretty stacked now with 14 films that are announced and starting production. That's pretty big, considering there have been 11 films in Phase 1 and Phase 2 combined. I hope that this does not mean Phase 3 is the end of the MCU! But in those 14 Marvel bonanzas, three untitled films in 2020 lurk. So of course, speculation commences!

In honor of probably the biggest Marvel movie yet since The Avengers back in 2012 (wow that was four years ago!), Captain America : Civil War, here is my list of all of the post-the year 2000, live-action Marvel films. (Note : I have yet to see any of the "Blade" films, or any of the "Punisher" films, so they will not be here.) (Another note : This is all opinion! If you think X-Men Origins : Wolverine is the best Marvel movie released, I'm not going to tell you that you're wrong, because there is no right answer!)

Marvel Comics have shaped my childhood in ways you can't imagine. They have thought me my morals, and what it means to be a hero. Video games and cartoons were my first exposure to these characters. I was born in the year 2000, so I was not alive in the golden age of comic books. These films are those that brought these characters to life on the big screen and opened my eyes to just how good film can be. Sometimes, they didn't work out so well. Let's take a look. (One last note : spoilers!)
